Jammu, January 23

Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Piyush Singla has bagged the national e-governance award given by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, for “Project Sakoon”.

This IT platform was conceptualised and implemented by the DC in Udhampur district. It enabled quick capturing, processing and disbursement of relief payment to sufferers of various natural disasters covered under the State Disaster Response Fund in a time-bound manner. For J&K UT, where natural disasters are frequent, this solution helped the people in need and distress. The project has been selected after rigorous scrutiny at the national level.
