The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday expressed its solidarity with fruit growers of Kulgam and Shopian whose orchards were devastated by high speed winds on Monday.

“Many small growers lost everything, and are left with nothing to pay back their bank loans or advance money taken from fruit traders,” the KCCI said. It appealed to the LG administration for liberal compensation to the farmers/growers whose crops have been affected. “This will provide them succor and help them to fulfil day-to-day needs of their families in difficult times ahead,” the statement said.
