Garbage woes

Garbage dumping spot on the Rajpura road near the AG office gives defies the Swachh Bharat campaign. Though garbage is occasionally lifted by the municipal authorities, the road continues to look dirty. It has become a breeding ground for disease. The municipal authorities are urged to kindly relocate this spot to some other place on the outskirt of the city. Ravi Sharma, Shakti Nagar

Unable to recharge FASTags

For the last three days there is news from the NHAI authorities regarding the implementation of FASTags at all toll plazas in the country, but I want to draw the attention of the authorities that FASTags bought by me and some other persons are not working. We are unable to recharge them and at times there are technical issues at toll posts. So it is requested that the NHAI authorities should look into the matter and sort out issues. Overflowing drain a nuisance

THERE is an overflowing drain near the Mill Stop in the Nowshera area of Srinagar. The sewage water has been overflowing from a manhole for the past three months, but the authorities looked have failed to act. The drain water has even eroded the blacktopping of the main road and the sewage water remains accumulated in potholes. It is difficult to pass through the area due to a foul smell emanating from the potholes. Mohammad Altaf

Stray dog menace continues

STRAY dog menace in the city has made walking on city roads difficult. One can see a large number of stray dogs along the busy Residency Road. It is a horrifying experience to walk along the road stretch in the evening hours. I request authorities to look into the issue. Ahsan Ahmed
