A married woman was found dead under suspicious circumstance in the Raper-Satwari area of Jammu. Her family members have alleged foul play behind the death at her in-laws’ house. The police said Rekha, mother of a minor boy, married Chanderkant (37) eight years ago. She was found dead under suspicious circumstance on Thursday at her in-laws’ house.

“We recovered her body lying under the stairs and there were injury marks on upper part of her eye. Her family members alleged that her husband used to torture her,” SHO Gurmeet Singh said.

“We have registered a case and started investigation. We have not arrested the husband yet,” the police said. —OC
