A large number of women, running short of money due to the ongoing lockdown, continue to throng banks to withdraw some amount to meet day-to-day expenses of their family. The rush of women in banks has increased significantly after the Centre credited Rs 500 each to the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts and three months’ pension in advance to widows, senior citizens and differently-abled after imposition of the lockdown to contain Covid. — TNS
