A person was killed in a fight between two gangs at the Hoshiarpur bus stand late last night. The fight involved sharp weapons, and the victim’s companion also sustained serious injuries. Following the attack, the fleeing assailants, driving at high speed in a car, collided with a tractor trailer at Gondpur village. Five attackers in the car were injured, and one of them later died while being taken to Amritsar. The others were admitted to Dasuya Hospital for treatment.

Gurdayal Singh, the father of Avinash, a resident of Mirzapur village who died in the quarrel, shared details in his statement. He explained that his son, who owned the Avinash Picture Gift Centre on Gardiwala Main Road, had gone to the bus stand. When Avinash did not return after a long time, his father went to check on him. At the bus stand, he saw Navjot Singh, alias Happy, a resident of Gondpur, and Rishi, a resident of Bhatla, arriving in an Alto car, armed with iron khandas (sharp weapons). They attacked Avinash and his friend Gagandeep Singh. Moments later, another vehicle with four o five youths onboard, also armed with iron bars, arrived. At Navjot Singh alias Happy’s behest, they joined in the attack. Avinash and Gagandeep Singh were seriously injured and rushed to Dasuya Civil Hospital, where doctors declared Avinash dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the attackers fled the scene in their vehicle at high speed. In a turn of events, their car collided with a tractor trailer in Gondpur village on the Dasuya-Hoshiarpur road. Navjot Singh, Rishi, Navjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Gaurav, all residents of Dadiana Khurd, were injured in the crash. They were taken to Dasuya Civil Hospital, where Rishi was declared dead. A case has been registered against the attackers.
