12-day camp for NCC cadets begins

An Army Attachment Camp has been inaugurated at the Sikh Light Infantry Battalion under the guidance of Brig Subhanjan Chatterjee, Brigade Commander. The 12-day camp aims to provide NCC cadets with first-hand exposure to the life, discipline and functioning of the Indian Army.

A total of 222 NCC cadets from 2 Punjab, 12 Punjab, 21 Punjab and 8 Punjab Battalions, representing various educational institutions across the Doaba region, are participating in this enriching training experience. The camp commenced with an inspiring opening address by Brig Chatterjee, who motivated the cadets to imbibe the core values of dedication, patriotism, and leadership that form the foundation of a soldier's life.

During the camp, cadets will have the opportunity to visit various arms and services of the Indian Army, including the Aviation Squadron, where they will see different helicopters and modern aviation equipment. They will also visit Engineering, Armoured, Rocket, and Infantry Regiments, gaining valuable insights into the operational capabilities and technological advancements of the armed forces.

Col Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, Jalandhar, is overseeing the cadets' training. Major Amandeep Singh, Officer-in-Charge of the camp, is supervising coordination and management, ensuring that cadets receive maximum exposure and hands-on experience throughout the training period. Four ANOs, along with four JCOs and 10 NCOs, are also involved in cadet training.
