Members of the Shiromani Akali Dal Sudhar Lehar on Monday announced a 13-member presidium for strengthening the reform movement.

SAD Sudhar Lehar convener and Nakodar ex-MLA Gurpartap Wadala said the presidium would include Surjit Singh Rakhra, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Santa Singh Umaidpuri, Surinder Singh Bhullewal Ratha, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Bhai Manjit Singh, Harinder Pal Singh Chandumajra, Gaganjit Singh Barnala, Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, Kiranjot Kaur, Charanjit Singh Brar, Paramjit Kaur Ladran and Harinder Pal Singh Tohra.

Wadala, ex-MP Prem Singh Chandumajra and former SGPC chief Jagir Kaur have been leading a rebel group in the SAD wherein they have been demanding that Sukhbir Badal should step down as the chief and let another party leader make reforms and re-establish the party.

Wadala said, “The party is facing a serious crisis. This is a matter of great concern for the Sikh panth. Efforts are being made through the reform movement to pull the SAD out of this challenging period.”
