The drive aims to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations throughout the city.

On Tuesday, under the directives of Swapan Sharma, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, a special enforcement operation was carried out. The operation spanned from 1 pm to 2:30 pm at multiple strategic checkpoints in the city. Leading the drive were Gurpartap Singh Sahota, ADCP City 1 and Aatish Bhatia, ACP Traffic.

The drive saw extensive nakabandi and vehicle checks by SHOs and Traffic/ERS teams at key locations such as Pathankot Chowk, BSF Chowk, BMC Chowk and Model Town Market. These checkpoints were chosen to cover critical areas with high traffic volumes.

“The e-challaning drive is part of the police’s broader strategy to maintain smooth traffic flow and secure roads for all residents. By taking strict action against traffic violators, the Commissionerate Police aims to instill a sense of discipline among drivers and reduce traffic-related incidents”, said ACP Traffic Aatish Bhatia.

He said during this drive, a significant number of vehicles were inspected, resulting in the issuance of 15 e-challans to individuals found violating traffic rules.
