The 15th Shaheed Bhagat Singh Football Tournament kicked off under the leadership of advocate Jasveer Singh Roy, president of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Sports Club at the Sports Ground of Government Senior Secondary School, Garhshankar. The tournament was inaugurated by SDM, Garhshankar, Harbans Singh.

In the first football match of the Under-17 age-group played on the first day, Doaba Football Club defeated Majara Dingris by a margin of 5-3. In the first match at the village level, Panam defeated Possi 3-0, Sumandra defeated Dhamai 2-0 and in the third match, village Bakapur defeated Vichhohi 5-4.

President of the club, advocate Jasveer Singh Roy, said that village-level football teams and six academies in the Under-17 age-group are participating in this football tournament and athletics meet which will continue from November 25 to 29. Apart from this, athletics (Under-17 and Under-19) for boys and girls and long jump and shot put competitions will be conducted. Prem Singh Dogar, Balwant Singh Bahra, Harshmohan Singh, Master Tirath Singh, Jhalman Singh Bains, Balveer Singh, Avtar Singh Seehra, Harvinder Singh Bath, Amrik Hamraj and Satnam Singh Parowal were among those present on the occasion. Amrik Hamraj conducted the stage.
