This initiative aims to enhance the availability of engaging educational material and improve the understanding of Punjabi grammar, a subject often perceived as challenging.

In an exclusive conversation, Raj Kumar shared, “I have created these chapters in a simple and visual format, keeping the understanding level of students in mind. My goal is to make Punjabi grammar—often seen as a difficult subject—more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for every learner.”

Raj Kumar’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a contributor to a state education app is as inspiring as his work. Born and raised in a family of 15 in the small village of Ghasipur, he recalls facing many hardships in his early years. “There was a time when a trader came to confiscate our home over an unpaid credit of Rs 200. A kind villager stepped in and paid Rs 100 to save our house,” Raj Kumar said emotionally, reflecting on his childhood struggles.

Despite the financial hardships, Raj Kumar’s parents and grandparents, though uneducated themselves, instilled in him a deep respect for education. “Their encouragement and support helped me overcome many obstacles in life,” he adds.

Raj Kumar’s academic path began at GGDSD College, Hariana, where he completed his graduation in 1998. He earned his B.Ed. from DAV College of Education in Hoshiarpur in 2000, joining the Education Department as a clerk in 2001. He later qualified as a Punjabi Master in 2010. Alongside his teaching career, Raj Kumar is also a published author with three books to his name. His first book, Ahsasan de Suche Moti (2020), was followed by two more titles in 2024. He has over 70 published creative pieces, contributing to the world of literature as well.

Raj Kumar’s father served in the army as a male nurse and his mother, despite being illiterate, was a strong proponent of education. Today, Raj Kumar stands as a proud teacher, writer and now, a digital contributor to the world of education.

Raj Kumar’s journey to getting his work published on the Punjab EduCare App is a story of perseverance and self-initiative. “I didn’t know anyone who could help me publish this content. I took the contact number of the app’s developers, explained my concept and sent them the material. They reviewed it, liked it and eventually, it was allotted a separate section on the app,” he shared with evident pride.

The value of Raj Kumar’s contribution has not gone unnoticed. District Education Officer (Secondary) Lalita Arora reviewed his work through a detailed presentation session and praised his effort. “This is a remarkable example of how dedicated teachers can take education beyond classroom walls. Raj Kumar has not only simplified the subject but digitised it, making it accessible to thousands of students across the state. His effort serves as a beacon for other teachers to contribute in similar ways,” she said.

Raj Kumar’s work stands as a testament to the power of dedication, innovation, and the impact one individual can have on the future of education. Through his efforts, he has not only contributed to digital education but also made Punjabi grammar more engaging and accessible for students across Punjab.
