The Patara police arrested two men with 6 gm heroin and 210 intoxicated tablets in Jalandhar.

SSP, Jalandhar, HPS Khakh said a police party near Puranpur village spotted a man coming from the Puranpur side, heading to the village Muzaffarpur side on March 1.

On seeing the police party, he threw down a polythene. Seeing this, the police arrested him.

The youth was identified as Sunny Kumar of Muzzafarpur in Jalandhar.

The police recovered the polythene thrown by Sunny from which 3 gm heroin and 90 tablets were recovered.

Another police party during patrol near the Chadpur bridge spotted a young man, who on seeing the police tried to run.

ASI Harminder Singh apprehended the man. He was identified as Lovepreet, alias Sakkha, of village Patara.

Upon being searched, 3 gm heroin and 120 tablets were recovered in a packet from Lovepreet.

The Patara police have booked the duo in two separate cases filed against them.

A case was registered against Sunny Kumar on March 1 under Sections 21-A, 22 B, 61, 85, of the NDPS Act at the Patara police station.

A case was also registered against Lovepreet Singh on March 1 under Sections 21 A, 22 B, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act at the Patara police station.

The police said the accused would also be presented in a court and they would also be further questioned on supply chain and links.
