2 held with 500 gm heroin, illegal pistol

During the ongoing special campaign initiated under Kapurthala SSP Goarav Tura to eradicate drugs in the region, the police have apprehended two individuals who were in possession of narcotics and illegal arms.

Giving information, sources in the Police Department said a suspicious bike was stopped at a naka by the police. Upon inspecting the two-wheeler, 500 grams of heroin was recovered. The police detained two bike riders identified as Navdeep Singh, alias Joban, and Jaskaran Singh, alias Karan, both residents of Faridwal, Makhu police station, Ferozepur.

Two envelopes containing 500 grams of heroin (250 grams from each envelope) along with a 7.65 mm country-made pistol with five live cartridges were recovered from the duo. These envelopes were examined under the supervision of the DSP, Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division. A Splendor motorcycle (bearing registration No. Punjab 09 AA 5538) was also recovered from the two suspects. A case was registered under the NDPS Act against the two suspects after arresting them.
