The Goraya police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two members of the Sonu Khatri gang, recovering a stolen tractor and a car from their possession. The gang was reportedly involved in a series of loot and theft incidents in the area and had opened fire at a village lambardar in Mandali, who narrowly escaped.

Addressing a press conference, DSP, Phillaur, Sarwan Singh Ball said a few days ago, a tractor belonging to a farmer from Dusanjh Kalan village was stolen — the act was caught on CCTV footage, showing how the gang executed the theft. Subsequently, the accused also stole a car, attacked a liquor shop employee and looted cash and liquor. They further targeted a jeweller’s shop in Dusanjh Kalan. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Harman Singh of Nasirabad, Kapurthala and Mansimranjit Singh, alias Sima, of the same village.
