Two labourers die after falling off from the fifth floor of a building. They were engaged in painting the building.

Two labourers, who were painting the fifth floor of a building on Cool Road here, fell off this evening. While one of them died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.

Both labourers were middle-aged. While one of them had a slip, the other also came off while coming to his rescue. Security guard in the building Makhan Singh said the contractor had given safety gears to both painters but they were perhaps not wearing these at the time of the accident.

Police teams reached the spot. They took the bodies into custody for post-mortem in the Civil Hospital. Enquiries of the contractor and the building owner was underway by the police.
