The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate has arrested two snatchers and recovered valuables from them.

Divulging details, Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said the suspects had been identified as Prince Lathra, a resident of Gopal Nagar, and Kamal Kumar, a resident of Ashok Vihar locality.

He said teams from the Division No. 8 police station arrested Prince Lathra at the Sanjay Gandhi canal bridge. During search, the teams recovered a stolen mobile phone and a motorcycle, bearing number PB08-DJ-9384, being used for committing crime from his possession.

The Police Commissioner said a case under Sections 302, 307 and 323 of the IPC was already registered against him at the Division No. 2 police station. Another case under Sections 379-B, 34 and 411 of the IPC was registered two days ago at the Division No. 8 police station.

He said a team of the Division No. 1 police spotted a youth at the Y-point in Bhagat Singh Colony. During search, the police recovered a stolen mobile phone from his possession. The police arrested the suspect, identified as Karan Kumar.

The Police Commissioner said a case under Section 379-B of the IPC was registered against him at the Division No. 1 police station yesterday.

He said two cases under Sections 379-B, 411 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 457, 380 and 427 of the IPC were already registered against him. Further investigations were on in both cases.
