Phagwara, August 1
The police have booked 22 persons on the charge of assaulting a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Amrik Singh said the accused had been identified as Palwinder Singh, alias Pinda, and Manraj Singh, alias Mannu, residents of Khan Pur Dhadda village, and their 20 accomplices.
Sagar, a resident of the same village, complained to the police that the accused attacked him with weapons, injuring him seriously.
The IO said a case under Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt)118(2), (voluntary causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) 351(2)(criminal intimidation) of the BNS had been registered against the accused. OC
