23-year-old woman from Nepal dies by suicide in Goraya

A 23-year-old woman from Nepal, identified as Sharadha, tragically ended her life by hanging herself in a rented house in Dilbagh Colony, Goraya. The woman’s one-year-old daughter was found crying beside her on the bed.

According to the deceased’s brother-in-law and the house owner, Sharadha had been living on rent in the area for the past eight months following the death of her husband. On the morning of the incident, she was last seen walking outside. Concern arose when a relative came to visit but received no response despite repeated knocks.

Suspecting something was wrong, neighbours forced open the door, only to find Sharadha had taken her own life. Her infant daughter was found wailing beside her lifeless body.

Police are conducting their inquiries into the matter to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
