The Punjab government is set to establish 25 new Anganwadi centres across Nawanshahr district, with nine centres already completed. Construction on the remaining 16 centres is progressing swiftly and is expected to be completed soon.

Following instructions from Deputy Commissioner Ankurjeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Avneet Kaur conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction in the Rakkar Bet area of Block Balachaur. During the visit, she directed officials to ensure the timely completion of the remaining centres.

The centers are being built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore, with the aim of providing essential Anganwadi services to residents of the villages and surrounding areas. Once finished, these centres will be equipped with modern amenities, including comfortable furniture and educational toys, creating a nurturing environment for child development and maternal care.
