3 held with narcotic substances in separate police ops across Kapurthala

In the first case, a police party from City Kapurthala nabbed Jaspal Singh, resident of Mohalla Bakarkhana, during patrolling near the vacant quarters of Markfed.
On search, 230 intoxicant tablets were recovered from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, and he was taken into custody.
In another operation, City Bhagwanpur police arrested Amit Kumar, resident of Mohalla Bhagatpura, after he was intercepted during a naka checking drive. Police said that on being challenged, he attempted to discard a small black polythene packet into bushes along the railway line. The packet was retrieved, leading to the recovery of 25 orange-coloured intoxicant tablets. He was booked under the NDPS Act and placed under arrest.In the third case, Subhanpur police detained Swaran Singh alias Sonu, a resident of Lakhan Khole, when he was spotted moving suspiciously near the Subhanpur fair area. During the search, police recovered 6 grams of heroin from him. He too was booked under the NDPS Act.
Police officials said all accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and possible links to larger drug networks.
