Three persons, including a child, were killed while two others injured after the car they were travelling in collided with an overloaded truck near Pathankot bypass here, on Monday.
According to officials, the car, carrying seven family members — two men, three women and two children — was en route to Ludhiana when the accident took place.

The impact caused both vehicles to lose balance, with the truck overturning on the opposite lane.
SHO Gurmukh Singh said the truck driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. He said preliminary investigation suggested that the truck’s attempt to overtake the car led to the crash.
Further investigation is under way and an FIR will be registered, he added.
