3 transformers stolen from Mehatpur

Thieves stole three transformers from farmers' fields at Raipur Gujran in Mehatpur. A 10 KW transformer was stolen from farmer Shamsher Singh's field and transformers were also stolen from his neighbor Wazir Singha and Amarjit Singh's field.

Kirti Kisan Union district leader Rajinder Singh Mand, tehsil president former Sarpanch Bachan Singha and secretary Ratan Singh said the thieves' had become so fearless of law that in one night, they laid their hands on three power transformers.

Even though there is traffic at the toll plaza near the fields throughout the night, it couldn’t dissuade the miscreants. They said earlier there used to be a police checkpoint but it had been removed in the past one year.

The leaders of the union have demanded from the police that the theft of transformers from farmers' fields creates a crisis for farmers. The thieves should be nabbed immediately.
