Three vehicles were badly damaged in a collision near Akalgarh village on the local Adampur road along the bank of the Bist Doab canal. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the accident. No vehicle fell into the canal after the accident.

According to information, Balbir Singh, a resident Dhamai village, was going from Garhshankar to Kot Fatuhi in his Alto car, while Narinder Singh, a resident of Bheen village, was coming from Kot Fatuhi to Garhshankar with a generator loaded on his small truck. When they reached the turn of Akalgarh village, a car came from the other side and all the three vehicles collided. The small truck, Brezza and Alto cars were damaged in the accident.

The reason behind the accident is stated to be thick grass growing along the road which blocks the visibility of drivers while they drive on the stretch along the canal.
