385 students from 15 schools showcase talent in music competition

The event turned into a memorable celebration of the young talent, featuring 385 students from 15 reputed schools, who participated in singing, solo and group dance, rangoli, and nukkad natak.
The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, following which the auditorium echoed with energetic dance performances and melodious singing presented by the students.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa said, “Music is an eternal language that connects people and builds harmony in society.”
He said, “Such cultural events play a vital role in building confidence, teamwork, leadership and a sense of pride among the youth. Encouraging young talent is the shared responsibility of society and the government.”
Mayor Surinder Kumar and Minister Dr Ravjot Singh’s representative Pradeep Saini were present as special guests on the occasion. The panel of judges included educationists Prof Neeta Mishra, Prof Tarun Pal Singh and Prof Neetu Mehra, who evaluated the performances with expertise and fairness.
Centre in-charge Meena Sikka welcomed all guests warmly and congratulated the students and schools for their enthusiastic participation. Event coordinator and principal of the centre Dipenderkant said the purpose of the competition was to connect students with Indian artistic traditions while instilling discipline, cultural awareness and human values. Programme organising head Ravinder Sachdeva informed that the competition was being conducted free of cost across eight districts. The round-1 events will conclude on November 28, followed by the semi-finals on November 29 at Red Cross Bhawan. The grand finale will be held on December 2 at DAVIET College, Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar, where winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 5,100, Rs 3,100 and Rs 2,100, along with mementoes. The event was anchored by Nisha Sikka and Hemu Thukral. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rajeev and Yatin.
