4 held for murder in Sultanpur Lodhi

In a significant achievement, the district police solved a murder case with the arrest of four suspects under Sections 103,109,115(2), 191(3) and 190 of the BNS on the charge of murdering Hani Kumar, alias Nannu, a resident of Saidan Mohalla, Sultanpur Lodhi, on the night of November 21. The victim was the BJP Yuva Morcha Sultanpur Lodhi block president.

Vatsala Gupta, Senior Superintendent of the Police (SSP), Kapurthala, on Saturday said the arrested suspects were identified as Kartik, alias kai, Naveen and Asif, all residents of Saidan Mohalla, Sultanpur Lodhi, and Gagan, a resident of Jawala Singh Nagar, Sultanpur Lodhi. The SSP said six other suspects, including Karan, a resident of the Hutt Sahib road, Sultanpur Lodhi, and Gautam, a resident of Saidan Mohalla, Sultanpur Lodhi, besides four other unidentified persons involved in the murder, were still on the run.

The SSP said the police recovered four sharp weapons and impounded a Swift car bearing registration number Punjab-41D-8998 which were used in the crime. The SSP said two other persons identified as Ajay Kumar and Amanpreet Singh sustained serious injuries in the attack by the suspects and were admitted to the civil hospital.
