Giving information in this regard, SSP Gaurav Toora said the arrested accused were identified as Damanpreet Singh, a resident of Gohalwar village, Tarn Taran district; Parminder Singh, alias Raja, a resident of Sultanwind Road, Amritsar; Gurjit Singh, alias Jeeta, and Malak Singh, both residents of Jhitakalan village, Amritsar district.
The SSP said a .32 bore pistol used in the crime, along with four live cartridges, one Hero Splendor motorcycle believed to have been used during the attack, and four mobile phones were recovered from the accused at the time of arrest.
The SSP said Damanpreet Singh had two cases — one under the NDPS Act and another under the Arms Act — registered against him. The other three accused had no previous criminal history, the SSP said.
He said the incident occurred on July 9, when two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on Paramjit Singh, a resident of Bhakhariana village, under the Rawalpindi police station. The assailants attempted to kill the victim, who sustained injuries in the attack. Following a statement by Manjit Singh, another resident of the village, a case was registered on July 10, 2025, under Sections 109 and 115(2) of the BNS, along with the Arms Act. —OC
