Officials of the Department of Animal Husbandry have taken samples of the deceased goats for post- mortem to ascertain the cause of their death. Veterinary expert Dr Balwinder Singh said prima facie it appeared that the goats had consumed some poisonous item. He said about 20 goats are still safe. Ex-sarpanch of the village Charanjit S Dhillon has sought Rs 15,000 per goat compensation to the poor family from the government. —
