455th free dental camp organised in Phagwara

The 455th free dental and denture camp was organised on Sunday at the Hargobind Nagar Blood Bank in Phagwara, in memory of Mata Thakur Devi and Nanak Chand Sethi.

The initiative was held under the supervision of Blood Bank President Malkeet Singh Raghbotra, continuing the institution’s longstanding commitment to community healthcare. Phagwara Mayor Rampal Uppal attended the event as chief guest and formally inaugurated the camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Rtn Satpal Sethi was present as guest of honour.

A mobile medical team comprising 25 dental professionals from Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, led by Dr Tamanpreet Singh, conducted dental examinations for approximately 110 patients. The team provided services including dental cleaning, fillings, and the distribution of necessary medication.

Six new dentures were distributed to elderly patients in need, while third-stage procedures for fitting dentures were completed for an additional 25 individuals. Dr Tamanpreet Singh also addressed the gathering, offering guidance on oral hygiene and preventive dental care.

Commending the continued public health initiatives of the blood bank, Mayor Uppal praised the team’s commitment to serving the underprivileged.

Speaking at the event, President Raghbotra announced that the next camp will be held on Tuesday, July 1. Among the attendees were Dr Davinder Chhabra, Advocate Anu Azad, Inder Khurana, Krishan Kumar, Roop Lal, Gulshan Kapoor, NS Saini, Mohan Lal Taneja, Sudha Bedi and Harvinder Singh.
