A woman was killed when a car overturned and rolled over into a ditch here on Saturday. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station against driver of the car.

According to information, Mukesh Chand, a resident of Kataru Chakk village, told the police that he was returning to his village in a car with his daughter Tripta Kumari (47) from a condolence meeting in Sarkaghat, Himachal Pradesh. The complainant alleged that car driver Balveer Singh was driving the vehicle at high speed and recklessly. He said when they reached near Chak Sadhu village, the driver lost control over the car and it overturned and rolled over into a ditch.

The complainant said his daughter died on the spot. The police registered a case against car driver Balveer Singh, a resident of Sukhiyabad village, on the basis of the complainant’s statement.
