5 held with drug, illicit liquor

In a series of operations against drug and liquor trafficking, the Kapurthala district police have arrested several individuals and seized narcotics, illicit liquor and cash from different locations.

In another operation, the Sultanpur Lodhi police arrested Karam Singh, a resident of Lattiawal village. He was found in possession of 1.1 kilograms of poppy husk (Doda Chura).

The Kapurthala police arrested Charanjit Singh, a resident of Inder Vihar Colony, and recovered 80 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.

In a raid, the Sultanpur Lodhi police apprehended Major Singh, a resident of Lattiawal, and seized 80 bottles of liquor from his possession. All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and the Excise Act. Investigations into the matter are underway.
