A total of 64 nominations were filed for the Zila Parishad, out of which five were rejected, while 424 nominations were submitted for the Block Samitis, of which 21 were rejected.
For the Kapurthala Block Samiti, 110 nominations were submitted, of which six were rejected and 104 were found valid. In the Fattu Dhinga Block, three out of 56 nominations were rejected, leaving 53 candidates in the fray. Nandiala Block witnessed the rejection of seven nominations out of 89, while 82 were accepted as valid. In Phagwara Block, two nominations out of 99 were rejected and 97 cleared. Sultanpur Lodhi Block reported three rejections from 70 filed nominations, leaving 67 valid candidates.
District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal stated that candidates may withdraw their nominations until 3 PM on December 6.
The Kapurthala Zila Parishad consists of 10 zones, while the Panchayat Samitis of Kapurthala, Fattu Dhinga, Sultanpur Lodhi, Phagwara, and Nandiala collectively comprise 88 zones.
