With the death of a 67 year-old woman, the number of deceased in the district has risen to 11. Three more persons were tested positive in the district on Friday. Now the number of infected persons has risen to 325. Just two days ago (on June 12) an 86-year-old woman had also died.

The woman, a resident of Dilbagh Nagar in Jalandhar, was admitted to DMC Ludhiana.

While she was admitted to DMC Ludhiana, her daughter was also with her there. The woman’s house in Jalandhar was found locked by health teams.

Dr TP Singh, Nodal Officer, Covid-19, Jalandhar, said, “Admitted with SARI symptoms, the woman had other co-morbidities like chronic kidney disease and diabetes. She was tested positive for Covid on June 7.

Meanwhile, the three patients who tested positive in Jalandhar today, include a 31-year-old man belonging to Industrial Area, currently admitted at the IMA facility; a 53-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, contact of a case previously tested positive.
