The NSS unit at Panjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre (PUSSGRC), Hoshiarpur, started a seven-day NSS winter camp under the guidance of Vinay Arora and Sukhwinder Singh Bamber, (NSS in-charge,boys) and Savita Grover (NSS in-charge, girls) on Thursday at the PUSSGRC campus. Sukhminderjeet Singh, Commandant, BSF training centre at Kharkan, Hoshiarpur, was the chief guest of the inaugural session. Vinay Arora said the motive of the camp was to inculcate among the NSS volunteers, the spirit and zeal to serve the humanity. Dr HS Bains, Director, PUSSGRC, applauded and appreciated the commendable participation of the student volunteers. He congratulated the NSS team for giving a wonderful beginning to New Year. While citing his real-life experiences during service in the far regions of the country, Sukhminderjeet Singh said it was the need of the hour that the younger generations were sensitised to serve their counterparts and fellow human beings to become better social beings. He appreciated the NSS volunteers for their participation in the camp. Sukhwinder Singh Bamber acquainted the students with the schedule of the camp.
