The passing-out parade and oath ceremony of women constables (Batch No. 265) was organised at Subsidiary Training Center (STC), Border Security Force (BSF), Kharkan, Hoshiarpur, today after the completion of basic training. Seventy-five female recruits passed out as constables who will now be joining their respective units in the BSF.
Azad Singh Malik, Inspector General (IG), STC, BSF, Kharkan, was the chief guest and was welcomed by Ratnesh Kumar, Commandant (training) and Birendar Kumar, Second in Command, STC, BSF, Kharkan, and other officers.
The Chief Guest was honoured with a General Salute by the parade after which he inspected the parade and took salute from the marching columns. The constables who had excelled in various indoor and outdoor disciplines throughout the training were awarded with medals by the chief guest.
After the parade, a cultural programe was presented in which the new recruits displayed traditional folk dances from different states. The dance performances won the hearts of the audience. All the staff of STC, Kharkan, their families, trainees, retired officers, family members of the new recruits and dignitaries of Hoshiarpur district were present on the occasion.
The chief guest appreciated the display of self-confidence, skill and coordination of the new recruits which was the hallmark of the parade. He applauded the recruits for choosing BSF as a career and exhorted them to serve the country with courage and enthusiasm. He urged them to set examples for the youth of the nation to follow in their footsteps.
IG Malik also congratulated Commandant Ratnesh and Second in Command Birendar Kumar and all the training staff for their successful efforts in achieving the objective of moulding the new recruits into self-confident, disciplined and skilled ‘praharis’. He blessed the recruits for a bright future.
