The police have arrested two individuals involved in the assault incident that took place at Adarsh Nagar chaupati. Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur informed that FIR No. 137 was lodged on Friday under sections 109(2), 324(4), 191(3), 190 and 351(3) of BNS at Police Station Division No. 2. The complainant, Ram Barmiyan, a Bihar native, had stated that he sells fruits on a cart outside his house. While serving a customer, a group of youths armed with weapons arrived and attacked him.

Following the incident, a police team led by Jaswinder Singh, SHO, Police Station Division No. 2, carried out swift action. With the help of CCTV footage, human intelligence and technical inputs, the accused were identified and two individuals were arrested. They have been identified as Surinder Singh of New Shastri Nagar and Gautam of Basti Guzan.
