An ambulance transporting a body from Chandigarh to Gurdaspur collided with an unidentified truck in Mahilpur town, seriously injuring the driver and another person. Onlookers rescued the injured with difficulty and rushed them to Civil Hospital Mahilpur, from where they were referred to Hoshiarpur for advanced treatment.

Ramandeep Kumar, son of Subhash Chand from Gurdaspur, was transporting his aunt’s body—who had died in a Chandigarh hospital—in ambulance PB-01B-8351. Upon reaching Mahilpur, the ambulance crashed into the unknown truck. Driver Mandeep Singh, son of Satvir Singh from Chandigarh, became trapped in the wreckage, while the truck driver fled the scene.
