Ashish, a student of School of Eminence, Bagpur Sataur, has won a bronze medal in the 67 kg deadlift category (sub-junior, boys) competition in the national deadlift championship. He has brought laurel to the district and the state. School principal Surjit Singh Badhan said that in the first national deadlift championship organised by the Indian Deadlift Federation at Jhajjar, Haryana, on January 13, Ashish won 175 kg deadlift across the country.

Surjit Singh said the credit for his success goes to Sandeep Kumar DPE, and Anupam Thakur PTI. Princi Badhan said that besides giving quality education to the students in the school, special attention is paid to sports. Badhan also honoured Ashish with a cash award of Rs 3,000.
