Phagwara: An Assistant Sub Inspector of the Punjab Police Binderpal, who is a resident of Bhanoki village and is posted in Phagwara, was killed while his wife Meena Rani, riding pillion to him, sustained injuries when the bike, on which they were going travelling, was hit by a speeding bus near Sugar Mills Chowk in Phagwara on Sunday evening.The injured Meena Rani was admitted in local hospital. The Police have registered a case, impounded the bus and arrested the bus driver. OC

Accident claims on life

Phagwara: A property dealer identified as Subhash Chand, resident of Khalwara village, was killed when the car he was driving collided with a speeding truck on a link road near Ghumman village on Sunday. The truck driver fled from the spot. The police have registered a case. OC
