Dr Pawan Kumar, Acting Civil Surgeon, Hoshiarpur, said all health institutions of the district would organise awareness programmes at village level to create awareness among the people about voluntary blood donation from Tuesday.

Voluntary blood donation pledge will be administered to people in these programmes. Dr Pawan Kumar said a month-long awareness campaign is being run under the theme “Blood donation is a work of unity, join the effort and save lives”. During this blood group test will be done in CHC. People willing to donate blood will be able to donate their blood in Divisional Hospitals and District Hospital. District Hospital Blood Transfusion Officer Dr Vaishali said those who want to donate blood can register themselves on the e-Raktkosh website.
