Bholath MLA Sukhpal Khaira has condemned the Bholath police for allegedly falsely implicating Dr Sandip Pasricha, vice-president of Nagar Panchayat Nadala, in a fabricated criminal case under Section 326 of the Indian Penal Code.

In a sharply worded statement issued today, Khaira described the police action as a gross injustice and an attempt to protect the Nadala land mafia.

Khaira alleged the police handcuffed and arrested the elected representative to intimidate him into surrendering before the local land mafia, which he claimed is trying to forcibly evict residents from a piece of land in Nadala.

“This police action is a blatant attempt to coerce Dr Sandip Pasricha to bow before Nadala’s land mafia led by Daler Singh by registering a false and fabricated case against him,” Khaira said.

Terming the case a travesty of justice and a mockery of democracy, Khaira asserted Dr Pasricha had been falsely arrested for an incident that never occurred.

“The alleged fight on the evening of 27 September never took place, and Dr Sandip was not even present at the supposed scene of violence,” he added.

Khaira urged the Punjab Director General of Police and the Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police to intervene ensure justice for Dr Pasricha, who he said is being victimised for supporting poor residents of Nadala in their struggle to retain possession of land they have occupied for the past 40 years.

Expressing solidarity with shopkeepers and residents of Nadala, who have closed their establishments in protest, Khaira said the public agitation reflects deep anger over the misuse of police power. He stressed law enforcement agencies must protect citizens’ rights rather than act under pressure from influential vested interests.

Demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Dr Sandip Pasricha, Khaira called for strict action against the Subhanpur police officials responsible for filing what he described as a politically motivated and false case.

“The Bholath police must remember their duty is to uphold justice, not to act as instruments of oppression for the powerful,” he concluded.
