A Good Friday procession was taken out in the city this afternoon from the Sacred Heart Church, Civil Lines, with prayers sung all the way amid enactment of crucification of Lord Jesus Christ

More than 500 devotees led by priests took a round of the city. Starting from the church, they took a round of the city passing through Kamal Palace Chowk, Shastri Market Chowk, main Post Office and Namdev Chowk, reaching back at the church. Bishop Agnelo Gracias, the apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Jalandhar, along with Parish priest Father Antony Thuruthy led the procession. The youth enacted the 14 stations of the Cross. Members of the Yusef Sena helped in organising the function. Later, a prayer was held in the church for world peace and non-violence.
