The city police have solved the blind murder case of a teenage youth with the arrest of two persons. Commissioner of Police (CP) Swapan Sharma said the police had recovered a dead body of a youth near leather complex on the morning of January 17. He said the deceased was identified as Ankul, (17), a migrant from Uttar Pradesh, who was currently residing at New Rajan Nagar here.

He said an investigation was initiated promptly, and on the statement of victim’s father Vimlesh Kumar, an FIR under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC was registered at the Basti Bawa Khel police station.

The CP said during investigation, an old rivalry and dispute were found as the primary cause of the murder. He said based on statement of the father of deceased, the police identified Rahul, Sahil, Rinku (fictitious name), Honey Verma and Anurag, all residents of Jalandhar, as main suspects of the murder.

He said police teams were constituted for nabbing the culprits after which two suspects Anurag, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who was now living in a rented accommodation at Pannu Vihar, Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar, and Rinku (fictitious name) were arrested by the police.

The police teams also recovered a motorcycle bearing registration No. PB08-CN-0719 that was used in the crime from them. The CP said raids were on to nab the remaining culprits and they would be behind bars soon.
