Brief: 35 boxes of liquor seized

Phagwara: The Behram police have recovered 35 boxes of illicit liquor from an abandoned place near village Talwandi Jattan last night. SHO Sukhpal Singh said here on Sunday that the liquor smugglers managed to flee before the police raid. A case under the Punjab Excise Act has been registered against the accused. oc

Five booked

for murder

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have booked five migrants on the charges of murder of a youth and criminal conspiracy. Accused Ritesh Kumar, Ganesh Ram, Rajesh Vijay Kumar and Sinod Ram are from Madhepur in Bihar. Rajesh Ram of Purnia, Bihar, complained to the police that they murdered his 19-year-old son Roshan Kumar on November 26, 2024. oc

Two held for drug trade

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested two persons on the charge of selling a banned drug. The accused has been identified as Satnam Singh of Saidpur Jhiri village and Sandeep Singh of Dhandowal village. The accused were selling Prega capsules without any licence, which was were banned. oc
