Phagwara: The Lohian police have arrested a person on the charge of consuming heroin. The accused has been identified as Harjot Singh, a resident of Dera Saidan in Kapurthala. A lighter, silver paper, and plastic pipes used for consuming contraband were recovered from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. oc

Family booked for cheating

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked three members of a family on the charges of cheating, breach of trust and criminal conspiracy. The accused have been identified as Gurmukh Singh of Shankar village, his wife Neelam and son Indarpal Singh. Gurmindar Singh of the same village has complained to SSP, Jalandhar (Rural), that he was in Canada when the accused requested him to send money for purchasing a house in his name but later encroached it. oc

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked an unidentified person on the charge of stealing a motorcycle. Arwindar Singh, a resident of Tut Kalan village, complained to the police that the unidentified accused stole his motorcycle (PB-08-FE-1475). oc
