Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked four persons on the charge of outraging woman's modesty. The accused have been identified as Rosha, Raman, his brother Ravi and Labba, all residents of Mahunwal village. Parveen Kumar of the same village complained to the police that the accused waylaid and attacked her, tore her clothes and snatched her gold chain, and threatened her with dire consequences. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused. oc

2 women booked for assault

Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have booked two women on the charge of assaulting a man. The accused have been identified as Kiranpreet of Jandiala village and Sandeep of Bundala village. Janak Ram of Bundala complained to the police that the accused waylaid and pulled him down and assaulted. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused. oc

'Drug peddler' arrested

Phagwara: The Lohian Khas police have arrested a person on the charge of selling intoxicating tablets. As many as 120 tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Bittu of Ismailpur village. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act against the accused. oc

Farmer booked for farm fire

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have booked a farmer on the charge of burning paddy stubble. The accused has been identified as Jagtar Singh of Dalewal. Nodal officer Piara Singh and Patwari Jaspreet Singh, Shahkot, have sent their reports to the police, which were verified and examined the place of occurrence. oc
