As many as 110 intoxicating tablets were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Jaswant Singh, alias Sonu, a resident of Cheema Kalan village, and Gurmail Singh, alias Dula, of Alaudipur village in Kapurthala. The Nakodar police arrested Bhupindar Singh of Sanghe Jagir village with 27 tablets. The police arrested Aman Preet of Kangana village with 15 tablets. oc
Drug addict arrested
Phagwara: The Bilga police have arrested a person on the charge of consuming heroin. The accused has been identified as Guljit Singh, a resident of Burj Hassan village. A lighter, silver paper, and plastic pipes used for consuming contraband were recovered from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. oc
Woman booked for visa fraud
Hoshiarpur: The police have booked a female travel agent for allegedly defrauding a person of Rs 1,60,000 on the pretext of sending him abroad. Ram Murti, a resident of Jora, filed a complaint with the police. He stated that Nirmal Kaur of Jora defrauded him of Rs 1,60,000. oc
Banned pills recovered
Hoshiarpur: The police have seized narcotics from various locations and arrested two persons. The police arrested Ashni Kumar, alias Badhu, a resident of Hardokhanpur, during a patrol in the area and recovered a large quantity of banned pills from him. Whereas the police of Garhdiwala police station arrested Indrajit, alias Shankar, resident of Balmiki Mohalla, Garhdiwala, and recovered a huge quantity of narcotics from him. oc
