A Ludhiana motorcyclist Deepak Kumar was killed on the spot when the motorcycle rammed into a stationary truck on the national highway near Phagwara on Saturday night. He was going from Ludhiana to Jalandhar but could not noticed the stationary truck in the dark. The police have registered a case against the truck driver who managed to escape. The body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem.

hagwara: The house of newly married couple in Gandhi Chowk near police station, Phagwara, was reportedly burgled on Saturday night. Ashutosh Gautam told the police that the burglars entered his house after breaking locks and took away gold ornaments and Rs 5 lakh, besides some other valuable goods. The family members were away at the time of burglary. The police have registered a case.

Kerala student's bike stolen

The bike of Kerala resident Jasuria S was found stolen before his rented house in the local Satnampura locality here on Saturday night. The victim, a student of LPU, told the police that he parked his bike bearing registration number KL-25E-5597 before his house but found it stolen the next morning. The police has registered a case.

THREE BOOKED FOR ATTACK

On a complaint lodged by Dilpreet Singht of Garden Colony, Phagwara, the police have registered a case against three persons on the charges of attacking and injuring the complainant who was admitted to a hospital. The accused were identified as Gurdwara Singh of village Darvesh, Raman Bains of Narangshahpur and David of Hadiabad. One car and a bike were also damaged by the assailants.The personal enmity was said to be the cause of attack.

Youth killed in accident

A 20-year-old youth was killed in an accident. The deceased had been identified as Gaurav of Sahem village in Nakodar. Raveena sister of the deceased told the police that her brother, who was riding his motorcycle, suddenly fell on the road and died due to head injury. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

Woman dies in accident

A woman died in an accident caused by stray cattle. The deceased belonged to Kaushaliya of Talwann village. Navdeep Gadu of the village told the police that his parents Baldev Raj and Kaushaliya were on a motorcycle. When they reached Poadharra village, stray cattle came on the road. Their motorcycle went out of control and collided with a combine parked on the roadside, injuring them. Theywere rushed to DMC Ludhiana, but his mother died on the way. A case has been registered .
