A major accident on the Goraya flyover was averted today when a speeding bus collided with a Nano car, dragging it a considerable distance along the road. The incident led to traffic congestion on the busy highway, which was later cleared by a Swift Support Force (SSF) team.

According to initial reports, Nano car was being driven by a woman who was commuting from Phagwara to her office. She alleged that the bus, travelling at high speed, hit her car from behind and continued to drag it for several metre before coming to a halt. There were no injuries, though the car sustained significant damage.

Speaking to reporters, the woman said, "It was a terrifying experience. I was lucky to escape without any injuries, but my car has been badly damaged."

However, the bus driver offered a different version of the events. He claimed that the Nano suddenly swerved, leaving him with no time to react, which resulted in the collision.

The SSF team responded promptly and managed to ease the traffic jam caused by the crash. Surinder Mohan, a senior official from Goraya police station, arrived at the spot and has initiated further investigation into the incident.
