Jalandhar: An exhibition of working and non-working models on science, mathematics, social sciences, literature, languages, art and craft was organised by students of St Joseph’s Convent School, Cantt Road. As many as 190 models were put up by students. They prepared models on topics related to stubble burning, energy conservation, smart homes, trignometry, constellations, Diwali decorations etc. The models of the students were judged and prizes were distributed to the winner students.

Diwali celebrated

Diwali was celebrated at MHR DAV Institute of Nursing on the theme “the victory of good over evil”. The event was organised by students of MSc Nursing, BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing and GNM batches. The celebration was started by welcoming Dr Ramesh Arya, member, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, and Dr Veena Williams, Principal of MHR DAV Institute of Nursing, Jalandhar. Students and teachers came dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. Students showed their spiritual feelings with performances like bhangra, Kashmiri dance and Haryanvi dance. Students fully enjoyed the fest by eating variety of things.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY organised

A special assembly was organised at STS World School in celebration of United Nations Day by the students of Grade 6 under the supervision of their class in-charge Shagun. The event was hosted by Damanpreet Singh Sandhu and Gurseerat Kaur. Paveet shared an inspiring thought for the day and a new word was introduced to expand the students’ vocabulary. Samar Singh delivered an enlightening speech, followed by Anjali’s heartfelt recitation of a poem centered around the theme of global peace and unity. Principal Prabhjot Gill commended the students for their hard work and delivered a motivational message.

United Bharat-cum-Diwali Mela

CT Group recently hosted the United Bharat-cum-Diwali Mela, a celebration that brought together the diverse cultural heritage of India, showcasing the traditions of over 15 states. The event saw participation from various institutions within CT group, each representing a unique Indian state, including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and others. The celebration began with a cultural parade, where students dressed in traditional attire and portrayed the heritage, architecture, and iconic monuments of their designated states. The Diwali Mela consisted of stalls representing different states, featuring regional foods and cultural displays.

Inter-School Rap Song contest

Sahodaya Inter School Solo Rap Song Competition was organized at Police DAV Public School. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij. The jury included Abhishek Rana, Music Producer, Composer and Singer and Jasbir Rana, who is a model. Ten teams participated in this competition. A rap song and a song by Vinay, who has participated in season 10 of Little Champs, were presented by the host school. This was followed by the performances of the various participating teams. The first prize was bagged by Kamla Nehru Public School, Phagwara, second by STS World School and third by Dayanand Model School Model Town. The consolation prize was received by Cambridge International School, Phagwara.

Annual Sports Day begins

Nobel School organised its grand sports event 2024 with enthusiasm. The chief guest in this programme was Prof CL Kochhar. Director Saroj Sharma and Principal Ravinder Kaur welcomed him. Physical Education Department’s Navdeep Singh and two sports in-charges Baljinder Kumar and Anil played important roles in this event. The presence of Amandeep, Sweety, Suman, Shweta, Kartikeya Kochhar and other staff members in this programme promoted sportsmanship. The event began with the traditional balloon and torch lighting ceremony, symbolising the students’ spirit and dreams of reaching greater heights.

Visit to leather factory

Students of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School visited Jay Dee Leather Factory, Leather Complex, for skill development . They witnessed the leather making process in the industry. They satisfied their queries from the people working there. The visit was very informative for the students.

Education World Award

Phagwara: Cambridge International School has been selected as one of the top 300 Co-ed Day Schools in India by Education World. The award was presented during a ceremony held at The Leela Ambience Hotel in Gurgaon to Principal Jorawar Singh. The honour was part of the 18th annual Education World India School Rankings (EWISR) 2024-25, which was conducted in collaboration with AZ Research Partners, Bangaluru.
