Jalandhar: Mayor World School hosted its Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition for students in Grades VI to VIII. The thought-provoking topic “Can computers replace teachers in the future?” sparked intense debates among the four Houses—Dickens, Keats, Shakespeare, and Wordsworth. After a fierce competition, Wordsworth House emerged victorious with Ishmeet Kaur (VIII) and Agassi Rattan Singh (VI) leading the team to success. Parth Saain Sharma (VII) of Shakespeare House and Agassi Rattan Singh (VI) of Wordsworth House were recognised as the best speakers.

Cadet Shines in Cycling Expedition

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) Under Officer (UO) Tara represented the institution at the Republic Day Camp 2025 Cycling Expedition, covering 710 km from Hussainiwala (Punjab) to Delhi. The journey culminated at Kartavya Path, where UO Tara met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. She excelled in the 60 km cycling race at RDC 2025, securing a remarkable 5th position.

Nat’l Mathematics Day Celebrated

Jalandhar: HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School celebrated National Mathematics Day 2025 under Principal Dr Ajay Sareen’s guidance, commemorating the birth of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The event included a workshop and competitions like the mathematics jewelry and mathematical rangoli contests, with students from HMV Collegiate and Govt Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, participating enthusiastically. Resource person Rumani Ahuja demonstrated innovative uses of 3D images, coloured paper, and technology to make mathematics engaging. In the rangoli competition, Ranchita and Navriti secured first place, while Muskan Virk won first in the jewellery contest.

Legacy and Recognition Event Held

Jalandhar: The Training and Placement Cell at DAV College held a legacy and recognition event to honour the dedication and achievements of its members. The event marked the inauguration of the new office of the Training and Placement Cell, with Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar cutting the ribbon. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Dr SK Tuli, Sr Vice Principal, and other faculty members. The new office will serve as a hub for career development, industry interactions and student guidance.
